Dental emergencies can be frightening and painful. Knowing what to do in the first few minutes can make the difference between saving and losing a tooth. That's why we offer emergency dental slots for our South-West Sydney community.
If a tooth is knocked out, handle it only by the crown (the white part). Rinse it gently with milk or water, and if possible, try to place it back in the socket. If that fails, keep it in a small container of milk or tucked inside your cheek while you head to us.
In a dental emergency, time is of the essence. Stay calm, follow the right first aid, and get to a professional immediately.
For severe toothaches, rinse with warm salt water and use a cold compress on the outside of your cheek to reduce swelling. Do not place aspirin directly against your gums, as this can cause a chemical burn.
Urgent Care When You Need It Most
Cracked or broken teeth should be seen immediately to prevent infection. Store any broken fragments and bring them with you. At Spring Farm Dental, our priority is to alleviate your pain and restore your smile as quickly as possible.
- Knocked-out teeth: Keep the tooth moist in milk and see us within 1 hour.
- Severe pain: Use cold compresses and call for an emergency appointment.
- Broken teeth: Save the fragments and rinse your mouth with warm water.
- Lost fillings: Use sugar-free gum as a temporary plug until you reach us.
- Abscesses: These are serious infections—see a dentist immediately.
